Dear Fellow Residents of Luceti,

Wouldn't it be entertaining to put on some Games here in Luceti? Not that the Cultural Fair wasn't amusing, or any of the other activities going on here -- but true gladiatorial games. The pitting of one creature against another! Think of the thrill and drama and the release that goes along with that sort of entertainment! And here in Luceti we are ideally suited for a very exciting Games indeed.

Who would you sponsor or volunteer for this entertainment? Or would it all be...

Pokey-mans? I find human beings MUCH more interesting to watch, personally.

Perhaps! ...Although, it's almost a shame that the Pokemon Coordinator that specialized in contests isn't here anymore, he would have certainly known how to best put on a show.

[...Except contests are a lot more tame than the tournaments and league challenge.] Nonetheless, contests and sports do usually require an amount of teamwork with one's Pokemon in order to win as well. As far as being called a "conquering hero", though...well, I don't know about that, though I suppose the title of "Pokemon League Champion" could be considered to have a similar flavor for many aspiring trainers.

Miss Effie, there really should be rules in place to make sure that nobody does die. You know, like a referee and some official rules? People are at enough risk with the drafts.

The coliseum is pretty popular in my world, ya know. Most of the time, the combatants fight monsters, but when they're good enough they get to face off against each other. It draws crowds from all over!

Unless you're thinking of arranging organized boxing or wrestling, I don't think many people would be willing to allow themselves constant death.

Nah. I mean, I'm an athlete, but my job's to help set up the weather back home.

So what are these Gamemakers, anyway?

You want to pull an event like this, you have to have a safety protocol. [He starts counting them off his fingers.] What weapons are allowed, what techniques are prohibited and vice versa. Proctors to judge the combat and make sure all contestants adhere to the rules, and step in when it gets out of hand. Medics on hand to treat the wounded. That sort of thing.

Gladiators fought to the death. I've done research on them here.

If you want something gladiatorial, you want something with killing. And I am not letting this place have a Games. Not unless you go into the first one.

If they are gladiatorial in the full meaning of the word then no, most likely not.

While this area is ultimately under the Malnosso's watch, hosting a game like this will cause dissent and chaos.

It's not the hurt. It's the drama that ensues -- the excitement! That sort of thing is fun and uplifting.

Of COURSE there are! Have you not seen the hallowed sport of "football"? [It's not actually played in Panem but there are legends of it.]

What about a game of soccer. [She's read up on this sport at the library.] Or hockey. Would anyone object to THOSE? Because they are, essentially, gladiatorial in nature.

I expect them to be VERY sporting. [It's not really an answer.] Games are not fun unless all are sporting and follow the rules!

Wow, that is... gotta hand it to you, you'd fit right in with some of the Sidhe courts where I'm from.
