Fourth Dispatch: It's Not What You Think. Voice.

Dear Fellow Residents of Luceti,

Wouldn't it be entertaining to put on some Games here in Luceti? Not that the Cultural Fair wasn't amusing, or any of the other activities going on here -- but true gladiatorial games. The pitting of one creature against another! Think of the thrill and drama and the release that goes along with that sort of entertainment! And here in Luceti we are ideally suited for a very exciting Games indeed.

Who would you sponsor or volunteer for this entertainment? Or would it all be...

[There is a pause here.]

Pokey-mans? I find human beings MUCH more interesting to watch, personally.

Hello there, Miss Brief! I don't think dying is strictly necessary, really. A good-old-fashioned game of some kind would fit the bill, with no dying involved.

At least not on purpose.

Miss Effie, there really should be rules in place to make sure that nobody does die. You know, like a referee and some official rules? People are at enough risk with the drafts.

Well, they've got their team uniforms so you know what side they're playing for even if you're watching from far away...unless you're talking about the uniforms being kind of ugly, in which case I agree.

[That was one of her main reasons for not joining any of the school sports teams, though the number one reason had been not wanting to get dirty.]

...if it's going to be a sports event, you probably shouldn't call it gladiatorial games, though.

Cheerleaders sometimes have nice uniforms. I think the biggest fashion challenge would be designing something that was beautiful that people could still run around in without it getting ruined too fast.

But what sort of material would one even use? Vineverlar, perhaps?

Maybe modal or lyocell. Or clothing made from bamboo fiber is great for exercising in because it's very breathable and it's a good counter against perspiration.

What's bamboo? [It doesn't grow in Panem.] Maybe vyokevlacene.

...I think we'll have to see whatever the most durable fabric that's here in Luceti is, because I've never heard of vyokevlacene.

[Although it would be nice if the fabric from any world from any time period could be brought in. The fabric in the Saiyan uniforms was built to last.]

Oh wow, sounds like it would come in handy for people who got stuck on a draft. I think the fabric choices available here would probably be more basic than something like that, though.

I haven't had any professional training as a designer, either. I've just got an interest in it and a sense of style. Maybe it would be best to figure out what sports people would be competing in.
