Fourth Dispatch: It's Not What You Think. Voice.

Dear Fellow Residents of Luceti,

Wouldn't it be entertaining to put on some Games here in Luceti? Not that the Cultural Fair wasn't amusing, or any of the other activities going on here -- but true gladiatorial games. The pitting of one creature against another! Think of the thrill and drama and the release that goes along with that sort of entertainment! And here in Luceti we are ideally suited for a very exciting Games indeed.

Who would you sponsor or volunteer for this entertainment? Or would it all be...

[There is a pause here.]

Pokey-mans? I find human beings MUCH more interesting to watch, personally.

[Right...] Well, that's one way of looking at it for some, as there are people who compete with their Pokemon in some of the tournaments or even for the Pokemon League Challenge we have in Unova. The goal is to see whose teamwork is the strongest, of course, and these battles can certainly have a very exciting taste to them.

Though, there are also many that simply battle for fun, or lack a particularly competitive nature and choose not to battle with their Pokemon at all. Some even take part in other sports or contests with them instead of competing for the league or other tournaments.

I'm not so familiar with teamwork as I am with battles that feature a conquering hero. [She has to admit this again; it's probably old news by now.] But maybe these other sports or contests that you've mentioned might be more to the liking of the people of Luceti....

Perhaps! ...Although, it's almost a shame that the Pokemon Coordinator that specialized in contests isn't here anymore, he would have certainly known how to best put on a show.

[...Except contests are a lot more tame than the tournaments and league challenge.] Nonetheless, contests and sports do usually require an amount of teamwork with one's Pokemon in order to win as well. As far as being called a "conquering hero", though...well, I don't know about that, though I suppose the title of "Pokemon League Champion" could be considered to have a similar flavor for many aspiring trainers.

Well, I certainly can't say that I'm opposed to competition, having been in a few tournaments myself. [Plus, "fighting people with his Pokemon" is more or less what he does for a living anyway.] Provided it's in good taste, of course.
cilantro: (shall we allow the tasting to begin?)

[Something that he's sort of suspected--the use of the word "gladiatorial" earlier was definitely worrisome, but maybe it would be a little hypocritical of us to be too quick to judge yet...]

Hm...well, I don't know if there are enough of us here that would want to participate in a large tournament, but I'm sure organizing public matches between whichever trainers are interested could work. In fact, I daresay it could even be fun, getting to show off the unique flavors of our Pokemon to the people of Luceti! [...And, truth be told, he does kind of miss being part of, or even having an audience when it comes to Pokemon battles, rather than just training or battling with the others in the Battle Dome.]

"Flying-thingy-bird"? [Sheimi's Skarmory? Ikki's Swellow?? Gold's Togekiss???]

What did it look like? Maybe I could tell you what it's name is.

Like a bird. It could fly, I believe.

[She's so helpful.]

Ah, I see... [Very helpful. Maybe he needs to try a different approach.] Do you remember who was in possession of it?

[If she saw it with it's trainer then maybe that would help narrow down which bird it was she saw?]

[He really should have seen that coming.]

...Well, of Pokemon I'm aware of here at the moment that can fly, there's Ikki's Swellow, Shiemi's Skarmory, and Gold's Togekiss. Perhaps it was one of them?
cilantro: (cilan please stop being so kawaii)

Oh, I see! [Mystery solved!] Yes, Soren--that's the nickname they gave that Swellow, is certainly a Pokemon of magnificent taste~! It wouldn't be surprising if it did manage to develop a "fanbase" of it's own, so to speak.

[Then again, he kind of feels that way about many of the Pokemon here, not just that one.]
cilantro: (why are you so kawaii cilan)

"Soren Kierkegaard"? [Do we know anyone with that name in Pokemon world...note to self, try to look him up when he goes to the library later.] Hm...you'd have to ask them if that's what they intended when naming him, but I suppose it's possible.

[Although, Ikki is not the original owner of that Swellow, so it's possible she wouldn't actually know either. ^^;;]
