[Since her return, Effie hasn't been up to talking over the journals. Mostly she's been listening and trying to recover -- locked away in Katniss's house until Jack Horner returned, and then locked away in Horner's house. She hasn't wanted to be around people -- not with her face and much of her body still sporting some pretty vicious-looking scars.

In Capitolista culture, scars are just about the death-knell to any self-respecting woman's social life, career -- you name it.

Today, though, she is going to venture out to pick up some walnut-free cookies for Jack and some clementines for Clementine and some romance novels for herself. Bodice-rippers. Real smutty, steamy stuff that's perfect for escapism, even if one can only escape for a few hours per book. It's worth it.

Find her at the library and the grocery store. She will be wearing a cloak pulled almost all the way over her face, a scarf around the lower half of her face, and elbow-length gloves; tall boots and tights cover any evidence of violence on her legs. She's trying not to draw attention to herself, though she is wearing complete make-up and bright green wig.]

"I'll definitely have it with some cereal! What's your favorite cereal?"

Oh, God. What was her favorite cereal?! She reached up on the shelf and took down the most eye-catching box.



Lucky Charms.

"THESE look colorfully nutritious!"

He brightens up at that.

"They do! They look so good! ...But do they got any animals in them?"

[trinkett]

"Have. Do they HAVE any animals in them." She checked the front of the box. "I see no animals here..."

[savedtheworld]

"Have...?" He's not really sure what she's getting at. But he shakes his head. "I mean, like, little bits of them. Sokka told me once that marshmallows have some kinda... gelatin in them that's made from animal parts."

[trinkett]

"SOKKA." Oh, no. NO no no no no no Effie HATES Sokka!

"Sokka?" Aang assumes that she's calling out to him - why else would she say his name so loudly - she gazes around them in confusion.

[trinkett]

And Effie gazes around, ready to clobber Sokka over the head with the nearest available item. "He's HERE?!"

"He is?!" Aang still doesn't see him.

[trinkett]

"He's so awful.


I...I don't SEE him. Are you sure you saw him?!"

[savedtheworld]

"He's not awful, he's my best friend!

And I didn't see him... I thought that you did!"

[trinkett]

"He's not here," she said with some relief. Then, sizing up Aang with new eyes: "Your best friend?!"

"That's right," he said with a simple nod, puzzled at how Effie could be acting this way about. "We're from the same world, and we've known each other for a really long time."

[trinkett]

"But...your BEST friend?!"

[savedtheworld]

"Yep, that's Sokka! Well, Katara could count too. A lot of my close friends are the best! But Sokka's the first that comes to mind when I think of friends. What's so weird about that?"

[trinkett]

Oh, Aang. She REALLY needs to step up and help you!

"Nothing. Nothing. We'll...we'll fix that. I can help. Don't worry, young fellow, don't worry..."

Sokka's such a bad influence, you see.

"I'm not worried. And, there's nothing that needs to be fixed."

[trinkett]

She just smiles at him. Oh, so much to be fixed! And she so loves fixing, she does she does!

"Oh... okay!" what is this lady's deal. "You know, I got my milk. Maybe I should just... head back now!" He says, briefly raising the bagged milk as if it were a trophy.

[onlyeffie]

"You head back, my friend!" Yes. Yes, he should be worried. "Enjoy your milk!"

Even if he's worried about what a weirdo you are, Effie?

"Thanks! I will." He said with a meek smile as he slowly took some steps backward. And he raised some fingers in a wave. "Seeya?"
